Hi, can anyone help with advice on obtaining USA registration from NZ?  I have signed up with CGFNS and submitted my profile, next step is to sit the NCLEX exam-can this be done in NZ or do I have to go to Australia to sit the exam?  I'm keen to get to the USA this year to nurse,( I am a NZ registered nurse)  any advice or help would be greatly received!  it's quite a process.....

You will have to go to Australia. I am also from New Zealand and sat my exam in Melbourne. Cost me $1400 (ouch) because I went middle of December but it was 1000 percent worth it!

That's  great to know Thankyou  !  I really want to get to USA asap ! did you have any problems with getting transcripts sent and was the process smooth? I was thinking of signing on with an agency to help with everything - but if it's not to bad a process I'll go ahead - do you mind he asking who much it costs all up ?

No worries! Thank goodness my CGFNS application went pretty smoothly - check my recent comments for a copy of my timeline. They didn't have any issues with the documentation provided - I went to school at MIT so if you also went there, clearly they know what they're doing. Biggest tip I can give you is to go via the CVS route and then you can endorse to whatever state you want. NYBON seems to accept our schooling where other states have issues with our deficiencies in obgyn hours. I can't remember how much the CGFNS application was but add a couple hundred extra onto that for the school transcripts, courier, etc. If you can help it, I'd do the CGFNS process yourself and then opt for a direct hire agency once you pass the NCLEX. A lot of the international staffing agencies seem to rip their nurses off, I know one was sued last year...

Hey just wondering how the progress is going for you? I'm currently in the verification process of my CES. Looking into things like visas, agencies, etc. now and feeling a bit overwhelmed!
