nclex help??

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi everyone I recently took the nclex and failed with 77 questions. I did the kaplan review and pretty much score 80% on the readiness exam . I spent 3 months preparing for the test doing all qbank quesrions and traineer. I honestly thought after computer shutoff I might have a chance to pass because it shutoff at 77. I have about 9 to 12 sata. It's hard to tell if the questions I got were easy level or hard . But I think my last queston was pretty basic quesrion regarding cane and I thought I had it right but few hours after exam I knew I got it wrong because I made a simple dumb mistake by think coal is cane on affected leg, when the whole time I knew it's cane on opposite leg. I don't know why I made such stupid mistake. But the question I ha e is regarding the time frame for thr nclex. I took almost 3 hours to do 77 questions . I told myself the first 75 is very important and if I take my time for each question and pick the answer and ask why I pick that answer and apply the decision tree then I can move on. I did that for all the question even if the question is pretty easy I still double check it. I told my friend and she told me I can not spend 3 hours for 77 questions because it could hurt you . Computer would be thinkinguyen this person taking too long for each question that mean she doesn't know it well enough . I honestly thought it's okay to spend as long as you want on the first 75 and the only bad part about it is that if you have to take 265 you might not have enough time since you spent so much on the first 75. So is there any possibility that spenting too much time on question could penalize me and fail me?? Have anyone pass the exam and took 2.5 to 3.5 hours of the first 75 to 90 questions ??

Sure. I passed with 75 questions and I took 2 hours for it.

Thanks for the information . So it not true then that taking too long on first 75 can penalize you

No. Nclex is cat exam. It doesn't penalize you if you answer incorrectly. It only drop/raises the question to your level of critical thinking

I passed with 85Q in 1.5hrs
