NCLEX changes

Nurses New Nurse

I just finished taking the NCLEX 2 hrs ago. I had 2 "fill in the blank" questions (both were drug calculations) and 1 "pick all of the correct answers" question. They were not bad. The test stopped at 75. Now I'm waiting. Most of the nurses I know who have taken the NCLEX recently, got results in 1 week. It will be a long week.

Hi H&P - I also took it today and got a couple of "check all that apply" type questions. No math. And you're right - it's a long wait, even if the computer does shut off at 75. You never really know until you see it in writing.

H&P,

Last time I heard, the fill in the blank questions are not "scored" questions yet so they can't count against you. Shutting off at 75 sounds like you did pretty good H&P! I bet you're just glad it's over. I take mine a week from today.

I took mine today..... 75 questions (yeah... I think). I had 2 of the "new" questions. One was a drug calc. and the other was check all that apply.

That's odd. When I took it I did not have any drug calculations or any fill in the blank- no new format questions here. I'm glad!

Let us know how you did! Congrats on getting it over with!

I spoke with 2 classmates who took it today. they also had check all that apply and fill in the blanks. One who took it Monday did not. Who knows.

let me just warn everyone taking the NCLEX soon.....I passed with about 90 questions but didn't get a single drug calc question or any of the new type question.....it doesn't mean a thing.....I worried for 10 days cause I thought that it surely meant I was so stupid that they wouldn't even let me near an IV so they didn't even need to ask! They don't ask the things that you know cold turkey. Good luck!

what states are you in?

I am in Oklahoma -- had 2 of the "new questions" and all of my friends have also had a couple.

Georgia--didn't have any of the new type questions. Passed with 75.

I'm in Tennessee. I just found out I passed with 75 questions, 3 were new type.

Congratulations..... Isn't it a great feeling !!!
