NCLEX California Eligibility Expiration

Published

i applied for nclex in california. as to my understanding, the eligibility letter of california brn is valid for 2 years, right? and the att is only valid for one year. so, if my eligibility issuance date is may 1, 2008, it will expire on may 1, 2010. am i right? thanks for your help! :nurse:

once you are eligible register for your exam when u receive ATT it is usually valid for 3 months n u have to give test by then, why should you wait so long, eligibility may not expire

Thanks for that. I had hospital training that ended early this year and been busy taking care of my little kid who has special needs (who is the core reason why I want to go to the US). Now, I want to take the exam once and for all. A friend who works in a nursing registry in the US wants to help me acquire EB4 Visa and told me of good news of changes in the immigration. So I have to hurry up and start 'digesting' again my nursing books and reviewers which I am so excited about now. So I can still register anytime now with Pearsonvue? My California eligibility letter was posted May 1, 2008. Thanks! :nurse:

Where are you from? as nurses generally come under EB3 and that is severely affected by retrogression and looking at EB4 (which is what you mention) apart from that is also unavailable at the moment it generally covers religious workers, certain long time employees of the US government

Honestly, I haven't got the details yet on how the friend from the nursing registry will acquire the visa for me. Initially we talked about H1B visa days ago. Then his gf sent the news with EB4 or EB3 visa moments ago so haven't talked with him directly. Negotiations are still underway so plans might change. I don't wanna bombard myself with too many questions right now as what he also told me. Got to focus first on my NCLEX and he promised to take care of the rest. He is working on it now talking with immigration lawyers. Despite the retrogression, I am still positive. As long as I am here alive, I don't wanna lose hope. :nurse:

You really need to find out what visa your friend is applying for you. You need to be clear on what route you are taking. The responsibility is with you if anything should go wrong. H1b is a specialist visa and EB4 is not for nurses. I would really be wary and find out properly

thanks for the advice. going back to my concern, eligibility letter of california brn is valid for 2 years, right? and the att is only valid for one year. so, if my eligibility issuance date is may 1, 2008, it will expire on may 1, 2010. is that correct? i can still register anytime now with pearsonvue? thanks. :nurse:

You need to check with the BRN but I thought it would state something on the letter you received saying you have eligibility. If it is 2 years then yes you have 2 years from date of issue

I checked on this forum because I can't find the letter but I already did, yesterday. And yes, I am still eligible. Thanks for answering my query. :nurse:
