Is this the APRIL TEST TAKERS THREAD? I've been looking for one. I am taking it this month, no definite date yet.

Good luck to all of us.

i am taking nclex next week, april 14. i would like to ask for anyone who have taken recently? how was the experience? how much has nclex changed?

Reply to forenursy15. Hi! I'm also a foreign nurse, and I live in Houston. So it would be nice if can meet some times to study or to exchange our experiences.. My e-mail address is [email protected]

For reference and from personal experience only, this is what I took from NCLEX-RN changes as of April 1st 2010.

They have altered the amount of questions from each category, with Management being the most with 22%. I believe the two next are Physiological integrity and Pharmacological Therapies.

I personally do not believe the actual test was more difficult. I took it twice, once before the chance and once after. I would definitely say that knowing that the above mentioned categories are greater in percentage should warrant practicing questions from those three groups. It is not to say that you should ONLY focus on those three, but having an idea of what questions from those three categories looks like will give you an upper hand. You should definitely study all the content, and knowing content will allow you to better answer these questions. If you don't already have a study guide in mind, I highly suggest Hurst for content review, or Kaplan for those who have trouble with taking tests. Kaplan is also good because it has thousands of practice questions that are more similar to the NCLEX questions than any other study guide I used. Good luck all!

:nurse:Hello! u can reschedule ur exam anytime u want as long as ur sure enough of ur studying methods.Just always remember when u study categorize it,and dont go to the next category if ur not doin very well with the first one.Well, that strategy works for me..Goodluck to u gurl, and pray harder!
