Was curious if anyone has worked a seasonal position with NCH in Naples. If so did you use their housing and was it clean, safe, etc?

I worked there several years ago as a traveler and really liked it. I found my own housing (which was a hassle) but several of the season/travelers there said the hospital housing was fine. It was really close to work so most of them just walked (I think it was a block or two from the hospital). Ask for the address and do a street view on google map to see the property...that always helps me when I'm curious about the area.

I am starting there in December and they said that I didn't get housing, which company are you working with? I'm really not happy with my company and now I'm wondering if they are just telling me that so they don't have to pay my housing since I had thought it came with housing... Thanks!

Yes, their housing is clean and safe. Occupied by nurses. A condo-like setting. The hospital itself is located in Naples, mostly a retirement community. It's a beautiful area. The hospital's housing is about a 15 minute walk to the beach and a block away from the hospital. There are lots of places to shop along the strip that the hospital is located like Macy's, Sear's, several malls and country clubs. I loved it! I was at the beach almost most of my time collecting sea shells and dolphine watching.

I am thinking of going to South Florida for the winter as my husband wants to go to some Dolphins games. I have heard horror stories regarding Florida travel nursing. I am an ICU nurse. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've worked at The Villages Hospital and Naples Community Hospital on Travel Assignments with AMN. They were both a great experience. I'm a med/surg/Tele nurse. Some friends I made in both places work in ICU and said it was great too. I would definitely go back to either hospital and work there again if the opportunity opens and I'm available.
