hey guys,
i am currently enrolled in nassau community college pre-nursing program/liberal arts. as some of you may know how cut throat the school is, as far as even getting accepted into the nursing program. i really dont have the time to wait around for years to be accepted into the program. also i needed a math remedial class which set me back, and now they changed the prerequisite from psy213 to psy216......as you can imagine all of the psy216 classes are full for next semester. i came across this st.paul's school of nursing, i have the application sitting in front of me and i am debating whether to switch or not, at least if i get accepted i know i will be in the nursing program regardless of prerequisites or not. although they are still needed, they will be able to be taken along with the nursing classes themselves. i am confused because i have heard bad reviews on the school, formerly known as st.vicent school of nursing.
i am asking for any ncc nursing student opinion, also spson student opinion. what are the pro's and con's??
i am a stay at home mom of 3, i attended night classes last semester, i have my husband's help as he has a well paying job, but i would like to get the ball rolling for myself asap. i am getting very much discouraged by the competitiveness of the field, i have a family i dont have time to waste. i have been considering switching major's (which i really dont want to do) so any input would be greatly appreciated!!

I am a SPSON student in the evening program. I hear a lot of complaints about my school. The biggest complaint is that the pre-reqs we take at SP, the psych, A&P, engl, etc. do not transfer to other universities when we want to get our BSN. For me, this is not a big deal. I have a job and children, so the evening program works for me, I am done in two years. Whereas at other schools, I would have been submerged in prereqs for two years even before getting into their nursing program. This program has to work for you, good luck.
