NC Results Anyone?

I took my NCLEX exam last week in MA for my license in NC. I had studied long and hard for the exam and it shut off at 75 questions. I have been checking the NCBON website and calling the verification number religiously for the past week, and still nothing! I am getting worried and am fearing the worst. Anyone else from NC know roughly how long it takes? I'll be devastated if I failed, but I want to know because this waiting is driving me crazy! :uhoh21:

I know when I took boards, I asked Florida to send the results to NC as I was going to move and it took a while. However, my RN license number was posted on the Florida website. You might want to consider checking the MA web site to see if they have issued a license. Of course, if your application for the NCLEX was for NC and you took your boards in MA, you might have to wait a little longer.

On a side note .... I have never met anyone that has failed with the test shutting off at 75 questions. Not to say that it could not happen, but I have never met anyone where they have failed at 75 questions. I am sure you passed.

It might be better if this thread was located under the North Carolina forum .... this might provide you with some additional traffic. Let me know ig you mind and I will move the thread.

Good luck.

Thank you. I took your advice and posted it on the NC Discussion Board to see if anyone there knows how long it takes. I appreciate your response.

HI kate, I took my NC boards in NY about a month ago.. I got the resutls in the mail exactly 1 week later... I know they say it takes 3-4 weeks for results but I was fortunate to get them in 1 week.. I unfortunately did not get good news.. SO I am retesting on August 6.. Where are you going to work? I am going to work at UNC Childrens hospital in the neonatal intensive care unit.. Good Luck!

Well, I don't know what to think. I am to start my orientation August 9th, but if I am going to get a "You failed" letter, I want to get it now and just get it over with so I can let my employer know. This waiting is killing me. And I can't wait 30 days!!! However, in case anyone else is in the same predicament here's something (not very reassuring) I received from NCBON today (Oh the worry and stress!!!): :sniff:

according to the instructions that were sent with your application packet, you need to allow up to 30 days for your results before you contact the NC Board. basically, the testing service has up to 30 days to get the results to the NCBON.

the NC state law says that the only way we can deliver results is by mail and directly to the candidate. so, we do not post results on our website nor on any phone system. we only have a license verification on our website and phone systems. once we receive your results from the testing service, we mail them out the next licensing day. our normal schedule is to issue licenses on Friday and most every Tuesday.

if you have moved and did not inform the NCBON of your new address, then there will be a delay (obviously) of your results reaching you.
