The passing standard for the NCLEX-RN is being raised. The NCSBON met December 3-4 and made this decision. The new passing standard is -0.2800 logits 0.070 logits higher than the previous standard o -0.3500. This was decided based on the increased acuity of patients being cared for by new RNs. (Don't understand what these numbers mean, just passing this information on...)

i am wondering if "someone" is saying the 2 days for rns and 1 day for lpns exams are best indicator for passing/failing?
what is your take on it, vicky, as an instructor in regards to a selected amount of question being individually based for pass/fail the nclex today?
edited to erase my very first sentence as it "sounded" as if i am looking to compare the lpn exam to the rn exam.
Unsure how to answer your question. I personally would prefer the computer test to 2 or 3 days' worth of paper testing. Another bit of information--I hear that there is more emphasis this year on medications and prioritizing.
thanks for your reply, vicky. i will just contined to learn and give it my all when i take the test.

I agree with Vicky..... when I graduated we were one of the first [at our school anyway] to be able to take the computerized test! It was way much better than sitting for 2 days. I also like the teir that if you answered so many questions in one teir correctly it automatically took you to the next teir until you were finished. I finished the exam in 45 minutes - and passed the first time around. :roll
