Navy medical
1 Post
For the past year or so I have been conducting research about the military medical programs (Navy nurse, FMF corpsman, ect.). Although some of my questions have been answered via the internet and recruiters I still find myself baffled by the abundant amount of information given to my dad and I and seek clarification and experiences from active/former Navy men and women. My first question refers to the NROTC program (I am in my last years of high school). How hard is it to get this scholarship? how can I prepare physically and mentally? I had a minor knee surgery, due being to vigorous on the basketball court, does this exclude me from being eligible for the scholarship?
I am looking into the nursing program through this scholarship. What are the summer cruises like? What happens once you obtain your BSN? Do you have a choice to go greenside or blueside? I would like to go greenside what nursing careers would help me achieve this goal? Is it possible to change my MOS from a nurse to a FMF corpsman or a surgeon, if i do so decide?
I am a 3.88GPA student and play basketball (JV nothing fancy) as well as work and volunteer at my church. ( Just incase there were any questions about if I work hard). Any information or stories would be more than appreciated!!!
