National University vs OU ABSN Program

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi,

I was accepted into National University and OU's ABSN program. Now I'm trying to weigh out all the pros and cons of each school. Can anyone help me decide??? If your a student at either school, tell me anything I should know about what I'm going to get myself into.

Thanks!!

I would do NU if I were you Angel619, I personally think NU has better and more resources than OU, and NU's 22 month ABSN would not be as tough and intense as the OU's 14 months program. Anyway, I would really want to go to NU for ABSN, just to see how competitve I am overall at this point, would PM me about your basic info (GPAs, TEAS, essay ect) when you applied to NU, I would really appreciate it, because I am going to apply to NU soon.

I don't have the perspective of a student in either program but from what I've researched there are different pros and cons for each. I spoke with the director at Azusa Pacific that said that it can be harder to get the "big picture" with the NU program since you're taking your subjects one at a time. It's also a significantly longer and more expensive program. On the other hand, while OU is faster and cheaper it is also mostly online. It may just boil down to what kind of learner you are and if you can handle an accelerated online format or if you prefer the classroom environment with a less intense pace. Good luck with your decision!
