I applied at the San Diego location, waiting to hear back. I applied for the (B.S.N.) Accelerated Post-Bachelor Degree, since I have my BS already in Business. Good Luck! It seems like a decent school as far as I can tell. I don't know anyone who goes there though.

Thanks Emily, I don't know how many people apply to the SD location, for L.A location there have been more than 40 students who have applied to take the only 20 spots. Looks hard, but hey we may get lucky. I don't know if you would mind sharing your status with me, but I don't know if I am competitive enough for the program, kinda just worried. My science GPA 4.0, Math 4.0, TEAs 85%, Essay: unknown (this is the most worried part for me). Since they only take 20 out of more than 40 students, who knows what will the competition turn out to be. Especially nowadays everyone has almost perfect grades on their prerequisites after their Bachelor. SO good luck to you Emily, wish you get in, let's keep in contact.

I got accepted to the Nov 09 cohort, got an email from admission, official letters should be received by the end of this week. Anyone else accepted to the la location? Since the 20 of us will be spending the next 22 months together, lets get together and start getting to know each other. Congrats to those who got accepted to the la location.

Congratulations to you Journeyman, I got accepted too, bu they gave me a phone call instead. Anyway, yeah, it sounds great if we can get together and start to introduce to each other since we would be spending next 22 months together going through this program. :yeah:

Congratulations to the both of u:balloons:! I too got accepted to the fall 2009 cohort at the LA campus. Yay, we'll be classmates! Like a big dork, I cried right after the phone call. I think receiving that acceptance package will offer me the affirmation that I got into the program cuz I'm still in disbelief.

Congrats to those who is accepted to the fall '09 cohort in LA!

I am still debating whether to apply for the spring '10 cohort in National University or apply to West Coast University. Honestly, I am not confident in being accepted to the program because of my mediocre GPA and because of the fact that I am not a good test-taker (in terms of still having to take the TEAS). If anyone doesn't mind answering my question, what was your science GPA and your TEAS score? Since my grades aren't above average, I am leaning towards going to West Coast, but the amount of money I would have to pay off is a very big factor of why I am hesitant.

I hope to hear more opinions! Thanks for your help

To be very frank, both my science GPA and TEAS were not all that stellar; moreso B average . But to tell you the truth, I think it was my essay that got me in. I literally poured out my heart & soul as to why I had a subpar qGPA from my previous degree & highlighted my healthcare experience (both volunteer & work) as well. I honestly feel that the essay will either make or break you cuz this is where you are given the opportunity to provide a brief narrative about yourself and offer a reason why you wish to pursue the nursing field.

I do have a friend who goes to West Coast's Anaheim campus, and yes, it is VERY expensive; we're talking over 100K. Transferability of courses seems to reflect that LARGE expense. My friend took a 4-unit Biochem class (a prereq for WCU), but WCU wouldn't honor it because it was 4 units instead of 5. So, she had to take Biochem all over again at WCU.

Just to add another potential nursing program onto your list, you should look into Oklahoma University's accelerated program @ Glendale. You need a 2.5 minimum qGPA and you must complete their prereqs prior to applying. They admit students three times a year for their 14-month program:
