Nasal cannula

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to know what do you do when the patient drops the nasal cannula to the floor...I know it might sound a stupid question, but I just want to make sure i am handling it right.

we were told soap and warm to hot water is best for this situation..alcohol will dry and eventually crack the tubing

Learned something while my Dad was in the hospital. If pt has a thick moustache, putting the cannula in backwards is more comfortable.

(So it curves away from the face, rather than towards)
