N.J. travel nursing?

Published

Hello!

I'm currently an ER nurse and have been at my small community hospital in a permenant full-time position for 3.5 years. I have wanted to leave my full time position and do travel nursing, but not outside of N.J. I would like to travel to see different hospitals and see how they are run. I can adapt easily and feel that it would be a better fit, because if I disliked the facility I was contracted to, I wouldn't have to resign. I also feel I am the main nurse resource at my facility in terms of experience and would like to have the opportunity to learn from othe, more experienced Rns.

Does anyone have any recommendations for which travel nurse companies to apply to? If I recall correctly, I remember being told once that one travel company had majority of the N.J. hospitals (as if this travel company had monopolized majority of N.J.). Does anyone think that is true? I also wanted to stay in northern/upper central jersey if I was able to.

Im not sure of how the process generally works. Is it a bad idea to take up travel nursing? Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appre

Why not try staffing agencies? Many major NJ healthcare systems (Hackensack-Meridian, RWJ/Barbara's, etc) list staffing agencies as part of their system
