My agent just called that my pt cancelled my service and requested another care giver. I just dont understand why as we had a good time last Friday. She even showed me all her rooms and collections and even invited me to stay for dinner.
Just disappointed. May be I am not suitable to be a care giver as I am too detailed oriented....

I'm sorry that happened. However, I wouldn't make that assumption just yet! Did you ask your supervisor if the client stated why? Because often times, it is something personal and has very little to do with the quality of the work of the aide.
I've seen patients refuse certain caregivers for many reasons: I've seen an old lady refuse to be cared for by anyone she thought was "too young", I've seen more than one patient refuse a caregiver of a different race. I've seen a patient refuse a caregiver because they reminded her too much of her sister, who she hated. She might just be used to things being done a certain way, and you might have done them a little differently. It could be any of a number of things. You get the picture!
Ya,h you are soooo right. I advise her to ask her doctor before buying OTC medicine which may interfere with her other medications. She says that she always buy what she likes to treat herself.
I feel much better now. Thanks.

It probably was the suggestion about seeing the doctor. Many patients don't like the slightest suggestion that they do something differently, even when it is clear to all that they are wrong about something. You did the right thing. Don't feel that you were out of line, because you were not.
