I have been having an AWFUL time with foot pain lately. Sometimes I get Plantar fasciitis but this is even worse than that- the whole bottom of my foot hurts like heck. I have tried Danskos, Shape-ups, running shoes, and these clog things. I do wear support hose too. I have maintained the same weight for years, so it's not that.
Any shoe recommendations? I would like to try Z coils but there are so many cords in the OR, I know I would wipe out.

There are a few shoes that I can wear all day with no pain. I try not to wear the same shoes more than one shift in a row, and I find that helps a lot. I find that I have to find a balance between cushion and support - I need good arch support, and I need good shock absorption.
Alegria - they have a lot of support, but the cushy insole is so comfy. Has cork and memory foam in it, and they come in a ton of cute styles.
Birkis - Some people hate Birks, but once you get used to them they are incredible and so supportive. I have a pair of the Dorians, and they are wonderful. The sole feels hard to your hand, but is very comfortable and shock absorbing to the foot.
New Balance - I have a pair of the toning shoes, the 850s. They are very well cushioned, and though they are toning shoes, they aren't tall and awkward looking like the shapeups. They're my newest faves.
