I am an SFC in the US Army. I am also a healthcare recruiter for the ARMY. I work closely with the NAVY and AirForce recruiters. While recruiting nurses for the Army. I recruited myself for a career to become an Army Nurse Anesthestist. If you have any questions on the Army, my decisions to leave such a high rank and start over ( not money) or anything. Feel free to ask.
I know how people feel about recruiters. But I have nothing to gain except misery by lying to one of my future collegues or supervisors. And trust me I did not lie to myself.

Do you still work closely with Navy recruiters? Do you know if they are still accepting people for the navy nurse candidate program? I sent in all my stuff but my recruiter is not getting back to me. I still need to go on an interview and get a physical done. I'm just really frustrated because I know he's probably busy, but I wish he'd just send me a quick email letting me know what's going on!

Hey, Sergeant,

I'm commissioning Saturday, the 14th, as a 66H8A, into the 345 Combat Support Hospital, USAR, at Jacksonville, Fl.

Just wanted to let you and everyone else know that I had a very positive experience in working with my health care recruiters and have alot of respect for the hard work and professionalism they exhibited during the whole process. I mainly worked with Capt. Saint Kaniaupio and SSG Doug Harding, and they were great, but the whole recruiting station at Gainesville, Fl was top notch.

LOL, I thought it was funny you consider going to commissioned status a step down for a SFC! You are probably correct in many respects, pay rate included. Best of luck with your career change and thank you for your input.

What are you waiting around for him to contact you, for? Keeping in - touch with a potential officer candidate is your recruiter's business, and it is your job to remind him, gently of coorifice, when he does not. Don't be frustrated, take an active role and contact him yourself. Let him know you are still interested and ask if their is anything else you can do to facilitate the application process.

On the flip side, the process can take many weeks / months to complete even at its' best, so a little patience is a good virtue...

Thanks :) I've already called/emailed him a bunch, but he hasn't gotten back to me. So I didn't want to keep bothering him! I have no idea how long the process takes. I'm trying to be patient! :) I've started this 9 months ago, so i've been pretty good!

i am going to school right now with a SFC who is in the ENCP. I was glad to hear that they have been accepting waivers for rank and time in service (i think he has 16 or 17 years in). He told me that he got turned down the first time, got accepted the second time he put a packet in. I am just glad that I will get the chance to work with the best nurses ever once I finish school and start my career as an army nurse.
