My license expires sooner than my some of the people in my class??

Hi, I'm new to this site and decided I would go ahead and join. I just recently graduated LPN school and took the NCLEX yesterday. I passed (thank goodness) but I noticed that my expiration is sooner than some of the other people in my class that passed as well. Does this have to do with how well you did on the NCLEX? I'm confused... mine expires late 2007 while other people from my class their license expires in 2009. Someone please help me understand this??

It has absolutely nothing to do with "how well" you performed on NCLEX. You either pass the NCLEX or you fail it, and in your case you obviously passed. Most states want to align the licensure renewal with your birthday, so they usually set the expiration date within 60 days of your birthday. For example, my birthday is in February. One of my licenses expires in late February and the other expires in early March so that the expiration dates are aligned with my birthday.

in addition to that it goes by your birth year. if you were born in an even year, you will have to renew your license in an even year, if you were born in an odd year you will have to renew your license in an odd year.

at least that's how tx does it.

i was really confused about that as well. in our class we had expirations dates 18 months apart.
