I just wanted to share my experience because I'm always on here looking and reading positive feedback and said to myself that once I pass the NCLEX-PN I will also share. for a long time I wanted to be a nurse but for the first two time I was excepted started I ended up in the hospital. I almost gave up. in June 2009 when I was pregnant with my son and having to stay in the hospital for 4 months, and seeing how the nurses and staffs took care of me, I realized maybe I should give it yet another try. So last year around march I pray I asked God to give me a sign if nursing is where he want me to be. (be careful what you pray for). because that morning I went to work, told my friend that I'm considering going back to nursing school, but god have to answer my prayer first if its really for me. In two days my job send an email saying that our site will be closes permanently. My Friend called me and said you just had to ask God. I have been there for 6 yrs. there was no sign that this was coming. I wasn't upset because I already knew what I had to do. I talked it over with my husband and decided to take 1 yr. off and just focus on the PN school. Let me just say, this was one of the hardest year for me. I would be up at 3:00 am studying, then get my baby ready for preschool. Its not easy at all. With the grace of the Lord, many prayers, and & positive people in my life I was able to be successful Aug. 2013. I didn't want to do any celebration until I pass the NCLEX. So the Monday after I graduated, I form a study group, using Saunders 5th edition and exam cram (I got both) and I purchase the Kaplan strategy 2013-2014. We divide our study plans by body systems. did it for one month straight, making sure we understand the content. by mid Sept. I decided to get a job, because money was starting to be tight. so that's what I did. since my NCLEX was due on 10/10 I told them I would be there on that day upon hiring. They agreed to hire me. during my breaks and lunch I would be doing questions, when I get home I would be doing questions. I also had the Quizlet app on my ph. to do while I lay down. Yes I was determine not to let my son down, because all I do is for him. Oh yeah I also had the 35 page study guide that help me a lot that I had found on here (thank you to the person who invented this). I didn't hide my testing date, all of my classmates knew. 3weeks prior I also sign up for the NCSBN 3 weeks review. I only did the questions.. I was so eager I finished in two weeks. day before the test I taught was freaking out at work, and it didn't get any easier when I get home. I studied until 12 a.m. pray, listen to gospel, fell asleep at 1:15 woke up at 3 review the labs on my ph and some drugs classifications. Went back to sleep for 30 min. then decided to just get up. I did 50 exam cram questions, review the Kaplan strategy, read the 35 pages, and did 40 SATA online for Saunders ( I did the exam opposite of what they say to do) My exam was at 11:30 a.m. Hubby told me I'm frying my brain. He got me breakfast, I ate and went to the testing location, go there 25 mins early. stop at the security, he ask me if i'm ready I said no, he then say...how are you going to take the test if you are not ready.. I told him i'm that my super nervous.. he said you be just fine, its just a test pass or fail, once you come down the sky will still be here you will still be you.. so I went in they check me in.. when I saw the first question I was so shaking then when i saw the SATA after the 5th question my nerves was completely settled.. overall I had 26 SATA stop at 85 took about 1hr and 15 mins. got home did the PVT and got the good pop up. yesterday I check ww2.doh.state.fl.us and saw that it show my test status say PASS. I was soo excited couldn't even concentrate at work.. This has been a long journey but glad God was with me throughout it all. Now my family and I are going to celebrate. I can now put the books down and take a deep breath of relief. sorry for the long story, but don't never give up on your dreams.. God is good and good luck to everyone!
