Hello all!
I am a RN from Romania, with a NM license, looking for a job in the DC area.Although I passed the NCLEX in 2006, this will be my first job in the USA. I am not very sure, how much an hour I could ask for, given the situation that I will be an entry-level nurse here ( the 13 years experience from Romania may help a little?)
I would appreciate any advise.
Thank you very much!
Happy Easter to all!

They will tell you what the starting pay is for a new grad - it's pretty set in stone.

You MIGHT be able to negotiate higher pay based on your experience. Ask them what they're paying new RNs with LPN experience. You'll have to convince them that your Romanian nursing experience is comparable (at least) to that of an LPN. Not to belittle your previous experience...it's just that the average HR person will probably have no idea of what your capable of and will want some kind of proof.
I negotiated higher starting RN pay based on my military experience but had to provide documentation showing what I was trained and authorized to do.
Good luck!
And Welcome!!!!!
