MTSA 2018 Doctoral Applicants (Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia)

Nursing Students SRNA

Hi All,

Wanted to know if there are any current applicants applying to the doctoral program at MTSA for January 2018?

Got mine too? Is everyone an alternate?

Congrats on those who are alternates. Fingers crossed for you guys! Unfortunately I didn't make it this time. Maybe next year.

Chin up man, l'm in the same spot. Lots of opportunities out there.

Onward and upward. Work hard. Talk less. Do what you feel is right. Learn from your mistakes. Laugh often. Invest in yourself. Dream big. Love unconditionally.

Any alternates get called? From what I hear they had about 8 that was accepted to decline. Also will anyone be looking for a roommate (s) around the time it's time to report to campus (May)?

I got called off the alternate list earlier this week, super excited! So does anyone know the expectation of us in January, do they expect us to quit our jobs?

I was told we could work. We only have to be there Jan 8-11. We wouldn't go back until May. I'm going to play by ear. We have 5 courses online, so depending on how intense it is will determine whether I quit or not.

Great!

Congrats Future Gasman! Jan to April will be online only, so we don't have to quit our jobs. We do have to be on campus for one week in the beginning of January. Here is pertinent info from the e-mail:

Enrollment will be January 8, 2018, which will be the first day of an Intensive Week. Once we receive your acceptance, you will receive an email from the Program Administrator regarding classes and activities for the week of January 8, 2018.

Instructions and Health History forms that must be completed and returned by December 31, 2017 will be emailed next week. You must be certified in ACLS, BLS and PALS to enroll in January with an expiration date no earlier than March 2019. At that time, the class will be recertified in all three. Send a copy of your certifications to the Admissions Office if you have not already done so. You will need to provide proof of personal health insurance by the time of enrollment. Personal health insurance must be maintained throughout your school career. MTSA does not offer health insurance to students, but we do have the names of insurance representatives that have worked with our students for health insurance.

Thanks, good to know. They haven't received my deposit yet so I haven't received any further information.

Thanks Maudebuttons, good to know.

Congrats everyone! I'm super excited to start and also wondering what everyone's plans are for continuing to work or not. I was considering dropping down to part-time most likely. Also, to everyone who didn't make it this year, don't let this stop you from trying again! I know friends who haven't gotten in their first or second year of trying but my advice is to not put all your eggs in one basket. Try applying to different schools because there are a bunch of great places out there! Good luck in the future!

Hey Everybody,

Congratulations on the first step! I myself am super excited and will be joining you guys! I am coming from Idaho. I plan on quitting all work starting January 1st. I want to focus solely on this new career and not be side tracked. Has anybody looked into the personal health insurance? Or have suggestions on good ones?
