right i have joined this site specifically to get the lowdown on this topic, i am sure it has been asked a thousand times before so excuse me for just asking, i feel i could be reading through all these posts forever to find out.
what i would like to ask is
is it better to use an agency to find a job in australia, or to apply direct to hospitals for jobs?
most places i looked want you in the job 4-6 months from getting the job, is this the average time, and is this due to the length of time it takes to get a visa, due to my age i must go on a state sponsored visa, i am 32.
any other advice greatly recieded, thanks in advance : )

I have always applied for positions through an employer as they advertised.I started as soon as I had served out my notice to previous employer.Do you have a specialty? Seems a bit strange they would keep jobs open for that long especially if there were locals who could start within weeks.
thats what is on the hospitals websites, in the international recruitment bit, i do renal, respiratory, medical high dependency and some assessment/advanced practice.
i think it just means they employ you from abroad, thats the time limit they expect you there in, thats what is says anyway, i thought the time was how long it would take for a visa, references etc to be sorted out?
any ideas?
