Hello everyone!
Up until about 1 week ago, I thought we were moving to the Ft. Worth area. Well, nothing is ever easy! :) Now, we are moving to Hagerstown, MD (may actually live in PA since they don't tax military retirement pay). Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on places to live and work? My husband is very excited as this job pays well; however, the cost-of-living seems high to me. I currently make $25.71-- is that reasonable in that area? Are the staff ratios okay? Do the hospitals have good reputations for treating nurses well? ANY help is appreciated!
Thank you!

Hi,
You didn't mention your area of practice. Hagerstown is in the northwest part of the state. Carroll County General Hospital is one of the closest to Hagerstown, and a short commute from PA. The average salary is around $27-29/hr.
Thanks for the reply! Do you know anything about staffing ratios?

So sorry, I don't know their ratios, I worked at a different hospital, in the OR. I did my OR Consortium at Carroll County General, and it seemed like a very friendly place to work. It was just too far from where I lived.
