I hope to be relocating to Santa Barbara, CA and get in to Cottage Hospital. I am applying for full-time jobs but wondering if anyone would recommend being a traveler nurse there first to get my foot in the door, then see if I can be hired on full-time? I find them to have very few full-time jobs (besides night shift).

All recommendations welcome!

You may have to work night shift for awhile, especially if you have a very specific hospital in mind. Even as a traveler, you may have to work night shift.

Do you have the experience to be a traveler? By that, I mean a solid two years or more in your specialty. If so, I think it's a great way to check out the area without being under the gun to sign a one year lease without getting to know the area at least a bit.
