Apply for registration through College of Nurses of Ontario follow the registration instructions for nurses in Canada outside of Ontario. Are you planning to move to a city in Ontario? If so, the majority of city health care facilities do not have a shortage of nurses, they have more applicants than vacancies.
Registration can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months in another Province. Then there is the task of finding employment.
When I was considering moving back home to Ontario three years ago, I was warned by a few friends who are also nurses, "Do not move here without a job."
You need to apply to vacancies on hospital websites. The facilities are unionized also, but unlike Alberta, there are many health regions in Ontario.

I am moving from Alberta to Ontario. I have been working as an RN for 4 years now and need help with transferring. I am wondering of anyone has any experience doing this? Do I have to obtain my registration in Ontario before I apply for jobs? Where and how do I apply? It's so straight forward in Alberta with one website for employees in Alberta Health Services. Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you :)
