Hello my fellow nurses and nursing students. I am currently in a BSN program that is nationally accredited and I will be graduating in December/2015. My husband is military and just got orders to Alaska in February/2016. I am stressing out because i would most likely be taking my NCLEX February/2016. I was wondering if anyone knows or could point me in the right direction about getting an Alaska License. From what I have read it doesn't seem to difficult since i believe everyone takes the same NCLEX in all 50 states... but i could be wrong. From what i have read i would simply apply for a Alaska license and take my NCLEX but i have a feeling its not that simple... and tips or directions would be appreciated. Thank you!!!!

You can take your nclex in any state you want your license. As long as your school is accredited and has the minimum standards required by that state. My school was located in ny and I took my nclex and practice in Nevada. I've never worked a day in ny.
This may be silly question but how do you know if the state accepts your credits. I go to Grand Canyon University in AZ and it is nationally accredited. Would i just call the board of nursing in Alaska?
Honestly I'm not really sure. Probably calling the nursing board would be you best bet. I know some states are stricter then others like California. I think you should be okay though.
