Moved to Phoenix, trying to find "good" home health agenices

Published

I just moved to Phoenix from Tulsa almost a week ago. I have 11 years experience as a hospital RN working in the areas of: Med-Surg, ICU, ER, NICU and Telemetry. I am wanting to do home health or hospice just because I'm pretty burnt out on being in a building for 12 hours a day. I have experience with wound care and medication teaching and would like to spend more one on one time with my clients. My problems is that I know no nurses here and am not sure which home health agencies are well established and provide the opportunity to make decent money. I have decided not to apply to Amedysis because of some forum responses to the company. Does anyone have any experience with any of the home health companies in or around the phoenix area?

I would also consider working in the hospice field as well. I am not sure which is the better field as I have never worked either one of them. Also, is the pay scale different b/w home health and hospice?
