Mountain View College Spring 2019

Published

Hi all! Haven't seen one for Spring application yet and I have some questions so I thought I'd start this!

It says on the app that we need closed transcripts from all previous schools. What if we have one on file with admissions, does this count? Only one of my classes is from an out of state school and on econnect it shows transfer equivalent. I have an email in to Self-Drake asking but thought maybe someone would know sooner. TIA!

I was a former Nursing student at El Centro and I'm glad that I walked AWAY! The professors are trash and they don't teach. They made us do clinical portfolios, 10hr skills class, and then we still had to make time to study for exams. Also, being that the school was in deep poop with TXBON they implemented "High Stakes testing". Meaning that they give the students a final that consist of 125 questions that's worth 25% of your grade, then they make you take the Hesi which they use as a pass/fail. I made the move to leave because of Mountain Views reputation, which is great. At El Centro they do "concept based" teaching which they don't even know how to teach. At MV they're traditional based! But whichever you choose good luck to you.

I was accepted into my first choice so I am giving up my spot. Good Luck everyone! :)

It's official guys!!! Orientation is confirmed!! Can't wait to meet y'all on the 3rd !!!

Just out of curiosity, what was your first choice? :) Congratulations by the way!

Thanks! My first choice was TWU -Dallas.

Just double checking, for those who were accepted into the Mountain View Spring 2019 ADN program. When you guys replied to the Dean with the exact reply statement she wanted (confirming your acceptance) did you guys get a reply or not? I did get confirmation replies from V Schultz (admin assistant) when I e-mailed the documents that were required, but that was everything.

I didn't get a reply back.. but I got an email for the next step process.

Good. I also got that next step process e-mail and I completed those requirements before Nov 30 (set up the dcccd e-mail, pay for the test, e-mail copy of meningitis/flu vaccine records). I just wasn't sure if the Dean had replied to that initial response from students :) Thanks for the reply.

I didn't receive a reply. Has anyone received the fingerprint instructions email?

Nope. Not yet! I'm assuming we'll get that e-mail sometime this week before Thanksgiving?

Hey so Im kinda confused here about the whole setting up the email through dcccd. Is it the same email that we have set up that gives us mail and alerts from dcccd/econnect? If so all we have to do is send it to Shultz? Also about the proof of health requirements, do we have to pretty much send copies of the same documents (cpr, tb, insurance,) that we sent with our applications again? Do we have to send a link of our health insurance? Im confused especially on that part

Yes to the email. It's the same one. And for the insurances and immunizations, I believe it says "if you haven't already sent it".. I'm going to email them and ask lol cause I can't find my documents . After I sent it to them I thought that was the end of it !
