Hi all! Haven't seen one for Spring application yet and I have some questions so I thought I'd start this!
It says on the app that we need closed transcripts from all previous schools. What if we have one on file with admissions, does this count? Only one of my classes is from an out of state school and on econnect it shows transfer equivalent. I have an email in to Self-Drake asking but thought maybe someone would know sooner. TIA!
Yeah so i got there 30 minutes before my scheduled time so that i could complete the written portion of the interview. The questions that i had to answer where about "why do I want to be a nurse" and "what are my goals as a nurse as well as what could i contribute as a nurse". After that i was taken to the conference room and i was interviewed by two of the nursing departments faculty. They pretty much asked me the same questions that i was given in the written portion and other questions such as what are my personal strenghts n weaknesses, what makes me a good candidate/why they should choose me, and if I have what it takes to deal with and undergo the program and the requirements and stuff. They also will ask you about your flexibility and if you will able to do the program if you work. Overall I think it went good for me and the interview felt pretty laid back and not as scary like i thought it would be.
Hey guys!
I did my interview today, sorry i took long to update. It really went well and I am positive about it.
So the questions for the writing sample i had were; 1. Why I chose nursing fro a profession and 2. What are my professional goals. (Here you just write what is on your mind to answer the questions in essay form, though you don't have to follow any format or have any type of length. And you type it on the computer!)
On the interview, there was a panel of 2, each will be teaching sem 1 and 2 respectively. I was asked;
1. Why i think I am a qualified candidate
2. If i saw a student stealing books or a test, what will I do
3. If i have a disagreement with any of the professors or students, how will i handle it
4. What are my weaknesses and strength
5. Do i have a proper means of transportation
6. What challenges do i think i will face when i am in the program
I did not expect more than 3 questions but i think i did my best (being that i am so terrible with interviews)
I wish the rest of you the best of luck, trust me it is not as hectic as i though and the panel try as much as possible not to make you nervous. they are super friendly...though they will be writing most of the time after they ask questions. Goodluck!
