I just applied for the ABSN for Fall 2012, just wondering if anyone has submitted their applications for this pool?

Do any of you have any volunteer time?

I did hospital volunteering the past 2 years with this program called COPE Clinical Care Extenders where I got to shadow nurses in different departments. I also just started volunteering last fall with a campus program called KID that involves teaching underprivileged children in a church every week about mostly basic science. I'm also an International Peer Advisor at my school who helps accommodate foreign students to the campus. That's basically most of what my volunteer experience has been.

I'm currently a Nurse TCAB (transforming care at the bedside) volunteer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, CA. I've been volunteering since June of 2011. I basically do patient safety rounds (check for spills, hazardous materials, cords sticking out, etc.), help with the nurse unit, and shadow nurses. I really love it and I've gained so much experience doing it.

Thanks for the advice! :) Do you know of any other accelerated BSN programs in California? I'm from Illinois, so am not familiar with California schools. What are some of the best ABSN programs in California?

I know some ABSN programs in California :) In Northern California: Cal State University-San Marcos, Samuel Merritt University. In Southern California: Cal State University-Northridge, Concordia University-Irvine, Loma Linda University, and National University (San Diego).

I'm not sure which ABSN program is the best... I would guess Samuel Merritt or MSMC :)

That's excellent! I've also done CCE, one year worth of that and also did Physician shadowing in oncology. I did in that department, because i'm a cancer survivor myself. I have over a year of Hospice volunteer. I'm an active member of a school club called "Flying Samaritans", what we do is give free medical attention to the underserve population along with doctors and nurses. I've started my own club that's called "Homeless inspiration project:, and i've held the vise-president position and public relations. what we did there is give free medical attention to the homeless population in Riverside california and help them get off the streets. I have two associates degree, one in philosophy and another in health science. I will be graduating with a bachelors degree in philosophy in june. i'm also a member of two well known societies, one is called "leadershape" and the other is called "Gamma Beta Phi honors Society." I hope i did enough at least for an interview.
