Hi there, currently trying to finish up pre-reqs for Mount Saint Mary’s University so I can apply for next Fall with only 2 classes left to go. Is it pretty difficult to get in? I have my non-degree LVN and have been working for 1.5 years, BA with GPA of 3.2, and good testing average (84% on TEAS). How do they generally choose applicants, first come first serve or more experience?

Hi! The admission criteria for the BSN is 3.0 cumulative GPA/2.7 science GPA (and, of course, all completed pre-reqs.) The BSN department does the reviews, and they look at Kaplan scores, essays and letters of recommendation. It is a holistic review of the entire application - so the LVN experience is a nice plus that you can discuss in the personal statement.

Hey Tristan,
I got accepted into the MSMU TBSN program so here's my stats:
- 3.93 cumulative GPA
- 4.00 prereq GPA
- 88% Kaplan exam score
- 1 letter of rec from a hospital I volunteered at
Hope that helps!
