At Holy Cross it can be anything from 1:5 to 1:8:stone. I've even heard bigger, but I'm not sure how true that is.
Anyway, Holy Cross does the most births in MD, so that's something to consider. Seems like a nice place, but it can get busy.

I just accepted a M&B position and ratio is 8:1 most of the time the mom and baby , but sometimes just the mom it just depends on the census. I'm an international nurse and I worked for 15 years in ER and let me tell you that I feel stupid in this unit., I'm use to take all kind of pts, so now thi is new for me.It is a lot of paperrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsssssssssssssssssssss , not many meds . I like hands on better than pepers. You haven't finish with your pts and you already need to work with the DC and new admision. It takes time to get used to the papers and computer programas. I don't know but I don't feel incompetent. Also I'll be working L&D , anex, nursery ( including CS baby form OR ).
