In advance, please forgive my ignorance. I have called EC and gotten the packet and asked a few questions but I am still confused. Does anyone know if Ohio accepts EC? Someone also told me ( this may be totally off ) that EC RN is a New York license and then you transfer the license to the state that you live in...could that possibly be correct? Someone also please tell me more about CPNE...what is it and why is it so hard! Thanks!!!!!:bowingpur

No, EC is simply a school in NYS. The license is granted by the state to which you apply. As to Ohio, I strongly urge you to contact your BON and find out if they accept EC.

I'm from Ohio too, and have been researching distance learning options. I contacted the Ohio BON and they said that as long as the program is recognized/accepted by the state BON in which it is based (New York, for Excelsior or Indiana, for ISU) then the Ohio BON will recognize it as well. They said that once you have graduated from the program, you just apply to take the NCLEX in Ohio. I dont think you have to get licensed in the other state first and then transfer it to Ohio. Hope this helps.....
