Hey guys,
I graduated in June 2018 with my BSN and passed my Cali boards and have been working at a Rehab/treatment center as Charge nurse since November. The pay is good but its not the area of nursing I want to be in. I have goals to go back to school to get my masters, preferably in anesthesiology and I know I need experience in ICU, ER, etc. I reside in San Diego and have applied to every new grad program, "RN I" job, and I receive no interviews.
I am aware that San Diego is an oversaturated area for nurses in general, nonetheless someone with 3 months of RN experience ( obviously not a lot), but I was wondering if anyone is aware of hospitals that will consider an individual with this much experience to get into a regular hospital setting, to then work my way up to the experience I need.
I am aware that most of the advice I will receive is to move to another area or state, but before I jump to that I figured I would just try.. I appreciate any help!
