Heys guys! Wanted to create a thread for those who are interested in applying in to MC nursing program for 2019. How are you guys doing in your prerequisites, GPA so far?? Hope to hear from you!!

Hi Crnabound! Thank you, we are one step closer :)

My stats = all priority classes completed, 3.0 GPA, teas score of 78.

Good stats wow. It means there was a lot of competition. I think you should be at the top of the stand by list

Hello ladies, sorry I have been away so long. Thanks for all the well wishes and once again congratulations to everyone. to Crnabound and yamichelle, I really hope you get in. You both deserve to get in.

Also, is anyone planning to work while in the program?

I work from home so hopefully I'll still have time to do that once the program starts.

Hi Rebelsmom. Right now I have no plans to work, but I'll re-evaluate once I'm in the program and have a better sense of the workload .

What kind of work do you do from home?

Thank you watermelonlove! You are kind. If I do get accepted to the program I will change my full time schedule to part-time (work wise)

See everyone tomorrow!

See everyone tomorrow:)

Does MC provide health insurance if you don't have any health insurance coverage?

Is Health insurance mandatory?

How many days did you guys have before confirming your seats?

I'm planning to apply for Fall 2019 & I don't have any health insurance. I was wondering if the school offers it at a reasonable price. Also, were you guys able to confirm your seats via email? I'm hoping I would be able to do this b/c I will be out of the US when they start sending letters. Thanks guys! :)

Hi there hello33, :)

Welcome & As far as I know, MC does not provide any health insurance if you do not have any. Health insurance is Mandatory if you plan to apply/ enroll in the nursing program (this was emphasized during the spring 2019 orientation)

People started receiving their acceptance letters around September 13th, while some received theirs much later (some letters infact do get LOST IN THE MAIL.. so make sure you follow up during the semester you apply if you dont get a letter) Deadline to accept/ reject seat was September 28th & to accept you MUST sign the letter and return it back to the admission office in takoma park. Make sure you check on past forurms when fall letters were usually sent out..

Thank you so much!! I researched it and it looks like the 1st person that received their letter for Fall was right before Memorial day May 25, 26 then they were supposed to respond back by June 10th then there was mandatory orientation on June 20th. Yayyyy! I'm planning this out b/c I will be out of the country around that time for my sister's wedding. Thanks for telling me the details about the insurance. Have a lovely day!

Hi everyone! just checking in to see how everything is going for you all. Time is really rolling and January will be here before we know it =)
