Hey everyone,Just wanted to create a quick thread for all of us who applied to the Spring 2025 evening cohort at Montefiore School of Nursing. Now that the Sept 1st deadline has passed, we can use this space to track updates, share interview or exam tips, and keep each other posted on when we hear back about acceptance!Feel free to drop a comment with where you're at in the process. Hey @Black empowerment Vision! I just saw the MSON portal updated on Friday and I was accepted for the Spring 2025 evening cohort. I unfortunately don't know what to expect. I'm hoping more people reply to your thread so we can connect before January

I also applied for this program and got accepted. They haven't shared much info, just the orientation days and to submit the vaccination proof to the Health office.

@Nursingstdnt16, nice to meet you! Thank you for sharing. I never received the acceptance email from the school, only my acceptance via the portal and I haven't received any additional information ie: health packet, orientation days, etc. When is orientation? I spoke to the school on Friday and I'm told the deposit is due by October 7th.

Nice to meet you too! 

They sent me the acceptance email/letter last Friday. Orientation is not until January 2025 (4th, 7th and 9th), and yes the deposit is due October 7th. The letter mentioned something about sending the covid vaccine records but they need to send the health package first, hopefully they send it this week!

@Nursingstdnt16 what  grades did you guys use to get in. My GPA from previous colleges were probably low. I got a 70 on the TEAS. I know my GPA messed up my application, but theres other schools so its all good.

@Black empowerment Vision I scored an 88.7% on the TEAS and my GPA is 4.0. I completed all but 2 prerequisite classes (I'm in those last 2 right now). I think for Montefiore, the TEAS score matters less than the GPA. If you can, take the prerequisites slowly at WCC and focus on getting good grades. Your GPA from the prerequisites will overshadow whatever GPA you had in undergrad previously. You got this!

I got in! I was originally going to go to Mercy ABSN however the cost was a huge deterrent. I'm happy with going to Monte!!

 

it's a lot of health assessment papers though LOL

It's officially the 8th and I'm soooo excited! I sent my financial aid and I waiting to hear back. So much to do with Castle Branch and CPR and all that other good stuff.

I think I'm going to go the Dennis Brooks class cause they are in the Bronx
