So I've gone and upgraded/attained some credits that I need for this program. My average is an 84 going in. Your suggestions on the hoae? I've been keeping an eye on this forum, and have been using the Georgian college .pdf hoae study guide to help me, but I was wondering: if the chemistry questions aren't that advanced, then what kinds of chem questions did you run into on the exam? I write February 13th! So excited and nervous. What were your averages going into RPN?

The whole science portion was SO broad, I wish I could tell you. The science questions ran the gammut from biology to chemistry to just common knowledge stuff. I did terrible on science but did GREAT on everything else and was accepted. Helped that my highschool grades were wonderfully high. Good luck!
I think I will do okay in general science and bio because I have somewhat of an idea of what to go over again. I was just concerned with chemistry in particular. Someone on this forum mentioned that they weren't even asked to balance a chemical equation. So I was just curious what kinds of questions they DID ask for, like for example molarity/concentration questions, organic chem, etc.
I really can't remember at all, I'm sorry.
Keep in mind, it's all multiple choice.

I don't know if this will help, but I just took the HOAE for a different program at St. Clair College, I was looking on this forum before I took it to get a better idea of what to expect on the test... I'm not sure how many different versions of this test there are, but my test barely had any chemistry questions. If I recall correctly, the chemistry questions were very basic and I can't remember any specific chemistry questions I had a problem with, and the last time I took a chemistry class was five years ago when I took pre-nursing. So I think going over the chemistry section of that Georgian college pdf, and trying to remember some of the basics like atomic mass, mass number, valence electrons, protons and neutrons etc and you should be good, there were no questions that required a periodic table, we were not provided with one (and the georgian PDF is definitely way more advanced than necessary for the HOAE, some of the simple practice questions will be useful but others are not). A heads up, I'd go over the different scientists and what they are famous for because unfortunately there may be a question or two on that. I wish I would have brushed up on my physics more, there were a few questions I drew a blank on! Good luck! It's not that bad :)
Oh and try to memorize the formula for changing temperature from F to C, and C to F
Thank you for the input, appreciated !
So my exam is on Wednesday and I'm so stressed! I'm really worried about the math portion. Sigh wish me luck guys

I know this is an old thread but how did you do on your test?
