Failed my osces... Now what?
But it's only my lab class that I failed (because I failed my osce) I passed all my other classes and not including my lab mark I have a B average

Failed my osces... Now what?
You really have to take all those classes again? I don't understand why. Do they not count as credits towards your diploma?

Failed my osces... Now what?
I'll also say, my lab mark not including my osce was good. we've had two quizzes and I've gotten 80 percent on each. We also have an online course (nso) but I didn't do very well on it because I kept forgetting they were due. I've calculated that if I was to go back and complete all the quizzes on my nso course, that I could still pass my lab class, despite my osce mark. It would be in the low 60s and it would affect my overall average, putting it down... Which I'm not thrilled about but at least I wouldn't have to worry about this anymore. I've emailed my lab teacher and I'm just waiting to hear back now. Still can't believe this happened because I prepared so much for my osce. This has really messed up my average for school, and robbed me of getting an 80+ average for my first semester. So frustrated and disappointed in myself.

Failed my osces... Now what?
So I'm in a really big pickle at the moment. Long story short, I had a panic attack when it came time to do my OSCEs and I tanked it. It's worth 60 percent of my lab mark, and in can't continue to next semester without passing that class. I've passed all my other classes, and my average not including my lab mark is a 79 percent. I've gotten a doctors note from my doctor, saying I've been treated for anxiety in the past and it's been a chronic problem with me since middle school. My program coordinator said I can approach them when all the marks are official and see if I can contest the mark. What do you think my chances are? I'm so upset and worried sick about it. Has anybody been in a similar situation? What if I'm not permitted to attend next semester. What happens then? Do I have to apply to school all over again for September and just take that lab class all over again? I'm losing my mind thinking about this, and I'm so upset I've let my anxiety get the best of me

Any benefits to a pre-health program to get into BscN?
Yeah, I took pre health last year but ended up dropping out upon realizing that it's just such a waste. They pretty much lied to me and said that I would need a 75 average to get into McMaster, and after second semester was over, this number went up to 85! It's alot of work for something you could easily just upgrade on your own for free. I think alot of people take pre health because they just want to "be in school" ... But it really is just a such a waste of time. 95% of the people who take it don't continue on as they planned in the beginning. The really crappy thing though, is that because I had taken pre health and had university credits, I was unable to just go back and get my university level credits to get into Mac. I would have to take pre health all over! It's such a scam. In the end, I started upgrading my credits the summer of 2012 - and I was finished by early November. Happy to say I was accepted into the RPN program at Mohawk, and I start in September.

Need help for pre-admission requirements for Practical Nursing at mohawk?
If you don't have the time to upgrade high school courses you probably will have even less time to complete a nursing program, I hear its very material heavy

It was a complete waste of time and money. Upgrade for free through your school board.

Mohawk college RPN: exactly how competitive?
Wow really? That's crazy! So I've accepted my offer, do I need to wait til the first fee payment in order to start my paramed clearances? For sure going to want to stay on top of everything. I can't wait til September! Ill be working part time, as I'm moving into a student house in may, so I'm a little nervous about that + the school workload but looking forward to the challenge.

Advices Needed
The reason you want to become an RN is due to "lack of respect" if you're a practical nurse? I don't mean to be rude, but wow grow up. You have some serious esteem issues- nursing is about providing quality care with compassion, love, and skill. Nurses are very under appreciated, so if you're image is that important to you, maybe you should reconsider your career choice.

Mohawk college RPN: exactly how competitive?
So I got my HOAE results in... Academic aptitude 51/75 Natural sciences 39/60 Reading comprehension 26/35 Spelling 36/45 Vocational adjustment index 78/90 With a required credit average of 84%. I calculated my average for the HOAE and I got a 75% - and you know what, it's much better than I thought I would get I also applied to niagara and fanshawe. Speaking to others in the RPN program, what were your marks that got you accepted? I'm still very worried about getting in, I have my heart set on Mohawk and applied for September and January. Very stressed out right now. Also, for people that started in September when did you receive your acceptance? Thanks guys xx
