Hi,
I'm a newer nurse with 7 months experience at a rehab facility. I've been trying to get into mo bap and st. Lukes w no luck. No matter how many apps I put in. How do you get into these hospitals? I've been looking to get more exp. And I wanna try and work at either of the facilities bc i heard nothing but good things about them both. Any thoughts?

The nurses I know at St. Luke's worked there as techs before they became nurses. As for MoBap, I'm not sure. I know several classmates I graduated with got on there right away as new grads. I think they just filled out apps with reckless abandon until they got a hit or 2.

I'm currently a Med/Surg RN at MoBap and I just graduated nursing school in May '11. I got hired on my floor b/c the managers already knew me and my work ethic from being a PCT there. But, knowing people and networking are important. So, if you already know someone at St. Luke's or MoBap, use them as a reference.
What nursing fields are you interested in? I know my floor (5 medical) has an opening for full time days open. We work 12hr shifts 0645-1915 and you'd have to work every 3rd weekend.
I actually wanted to work at 5 medical. But I keep getting rejected. I also applied to ortho and just got rejected today. My friend just started on 5 medical and she loves it. She's the only person I talk too that works there. The other people that I know that work there i don't talk to anymore. But ive been sounding out apps for months and haven't even got a callback. I have no idea what exactly they are looking for.

Ah yes, those lovely robo-rejection letters. I got plenty of those when I applied to every RN position at MoBap. Then, when it came down to the wire, I didn't get but 1 letter that said something like, "Thanks for your interest in this position. We apologize for taking this long to get back to you...we are interested in you"...yada yada. What I would do is send an email to the nurse manager (Joan), telling her that you are extremely interested in a med/surg position as a new nurse, so as to hone your basic nursing skills. Managers and HR like it when a possible hire takes the initiative and goes the extra mile to contact them personally. They're really busy and if you can do anything that can make their job easier, they love it! Besides, dropping a name here and there (like your friend or even me) may get you in the door for an interview! I'll send you a private msg of my name and contact info.
Ok. I will send your manager an email. Can you send me your managers email as well as your information in a private message. I would ask my friend but shes only been at her job for 3 weeks. So i'm not sure if i should use her yet as a reference.
:confused:Okay, I'm having a bit of an issue trying to find how to send you a private message! I've not spent a great deal of time on this website, but I'm guessing I have to upgrade my membership to send you a message? Anyway, if you look me up on Facebook, it's easier to communicate that way: jennifer.cuneo. I'm with my fiancee in the picture and we're both wearing red shirts (we were at a Cardinals' game.) Let me know if you have trouble finding me.
ok sent you a message.
Sublime. Did you get my message on facebook?
