Mission College LVN - Santa Clara, CA

Hi! I applied to the current cycle for the LVN program at Mission College in Santa Clara, Ca and was wondering if anybody else did as well? I can't find any info on the program but does anybody know if it's merit or lottery based? When do we get our results back?  Any info on the program will help!

I can't believe no one has made a blog like this for Mission or even a response yet! I applied! I was told the director of the program just finished processing applications last week. So, we won't hear anything back until later this week. Hoping no later than Friday, 04/25. But so far, no info yet!

Oh, and to answer your question, I joined the informational Zoom call back in March. 75% of the applicants are based on points such as veteran status, other coursework completed, any healthcare experience, or having a BS degree. If you don't fall under those categories and only fit their minimum requirements, such as CNA, CPR, Anatomy and Physiology, then those in that situation will fall under the 25%, which is based on lottery. In the Zoom meeting, they said that for last semester, over 100ish people applied, and about only 30 got in, with 5 on the waitlist.

I'm assuming we are talking about the 2025 application cycle.  I applied and am eagerly waiting. It said that we will all know by May 2 so fingers crossed for everyone!!

Have you heard anything? Notices should go out by today and I haven't heard anything .

My daughter was accepted! Super excited! She was notified yesterday via email.

Quick question - does anyone know the dates for the Summer class "HOC 050: Role Transition LVN to RN"?

Congrats to your daughter! I got the email that I got in as well! So excited. 
I wasn't sure if there are any classes in the Summer. On the website I just see Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Fall 2026. And also, the email that we got, says that if you need to take any more classes for your AA, they should be done in the "summers".
So I don't think there was any Summer classes.  
I hope that's correct because I have a vacation planned in July and now I may add a couple more since I doubt I will do anything for the next year.

Congrats to your admission!

Yes, we are planning a vacation as well.

For last Summer, the class schedule listed "HOC 050", but not this Summer's class schedule. Also, the Program Map indicates HOC 050 to be taken in the Summer.

We will book our vacation!
