Hi! I was wondering in the state of Arizona can you have misdemeanors on your record and still obtain a nursing license?

This was all I could find on the AZ B of N website: http://www.azbn.gov/documents/npa/Rules.pdf
Under list of "Unprofessional Conduct"
B. For purposes of A.R.S. 32-1601(16)(d), any conduct or practice that is or might be harmful or dangerous to the health of a patient or
the public includes one or more of the following:
:
28. If a licensee or applicant is charged with a felony or a misdemeanor involving conduct that may affect patient safety, failing to notify the Board in writing, as required under A.R.S. 32-3208, within 10 days of being charged.

you are in luck. I just called the board today and asked this question. If you download the application for a lisence by examination and go to the section where you fill out your name there are 4 questions at the end on page 3. 3 of them pertain to if you have ever had a CNA/RN lisence and if you have ever been terminated or are under investigation from something related to a medical lisence...so i suppose if you had a misdemenor assult related to you assulting a patient that may make a difference but the lady at the board told me today they only want to know about felonies. The last question asks if you have ever been convicted of a felony. So besides anything related to a medical lisence they only want to know about felonies. If you want call them and ask, they are very nice and willing to answer all questions. The lady I spoke to today said years ago they used to ask for all convictions but now they just want anything related to health care and felonies...and some felonies are excusable if they are over 5 years old....depending on what they are obviously.
