I have been considering a move that would place me with a nice commute to either Essentia or St. Lukes. Can anyone here give me some insight into differences between the two, wages, benefits etc.? St. Lukes doesn't offer any look at wages online that I've seen. Does Essentia start at $30 even with experience?

How do you like working for them, if you do? Are you short staffed? How long was orientation? Are the managers pleasant to deal with?

Anything you can offer about either of the two places would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

Since you haven't gotten much for feedback, I'll offer what I saw as a patient at St. Luke's (on vacation, no less!) Nurses looked to be working well together as a team. The care I got was quality and timely which would indicate that either there weren't major staffing issues or they were concealing it well. My husband's grandmother was a radiologist there back in the day and enjoyed working there very much. Not much, but hope this helps some.

Thank you for the input! St. Luke's is a significantly smaller entity than Essentia, and I think that might be a good starting point for working in the area. I've been to Essentia a few times visiting people they were caring for, and I really wasn't too impressed. They seem short staffed for sure - I have actually heard nurses there talking about covering shifts while at the nurse's station or in the hallway.
