military separation

Would having an entry level separation from the military make me inelgible to sit for the nclex? My dd214 says under reason for separation 'errenous enlistment', I don't know if that is relevant or not.

erroneous enlistment. a member may be separated on the basis of an erroneous enlistment, induction, or extension of enlistment. an enlistment, induction, or extension of enlistment is erroneous in the following circumstances, if: (1) it would not have occurred had the relevant facts been known by the government or had appropriate directives been followed; (2) it was not the result of fraudulent conduct on the part of the member; and (3) the defect is unchanged in material respects.

erroneous enlistment. normally receive an honorable discharge, unless eligible for an entry level separation (less than 180 days of military service).

you need to ask your state board of nursing this question.

An erroneous enlistment means the military is basically saying "we screwed up, you weren't eligible to enlist." For example, my preceptor's son enlisted in the navy. He has very bad peripheral vision. The eye doctor at boot camp said his vision wasn't good enough to be in the navy, so he was discharged.

He hadn't lied about his vision, or tried to hide it, so there was no fraud. It was the navy's screw-up to take him in the first place. That's what is meant by an erroneous enlistment.

The entry-level separation just means that the military caught the mistake in the first six months, so they don't feel like they have to give you VA benefits or the GI bill, or any of the other benefits one gets for an honorable discharge.

As far as your military paperwork is concerned, all it really says is "we enlisted you, then we realized we shouldn't have, so we let you go. Have a nice life."

This won't have any impact on your ability to take the nclex, you'll be fine.
