Does the military permit Healthcare officers stay in past the age of 60, or is it a manadatory retirement?

Well, it all depends on the world situation and the "needs of the Army" but I was told, via e-mail, from BG Pollack's ® ANC Branch office, that one can obtain an age waiver [MOS 66] up to an including age 68 if mentally and physically able.
When I was at Landstuhl (2005) there was a Reservist (66H8A) that was coming on post for a short-term (9 months) and she was 72 years young! But that was the same day the First Lady Laura Bush was also coming on post so security was tight and I didn't get a chance to meet either of them

Wow! Ok that's great to know. Thank you. I'm 39, but was reading up on the retirement percentages based on years of service and started to wonder. Will be signing up for the Navy this year, hoping for the 20 years and plus some. Thanks again
