It has been several years since I worked for the government. I worked with several military nurses- mostly Army and Air Force. These nurses would tell me about working for a military sector by contracting- how much contrating nurses seemed to enjoy working for the military, but not have some of the headaches that come with actually being in the military.
I am thinking about trying to return to work part-time in the future. I will not be able to work full time due to an injury.
Can anyone tell me about civilian nursing for the military- is it possible to contract for part-time? I left the government as a GS 11. I don't think going back into Federal Public Health is the answer because there are not usually part-time positions.
Are any of you civilians contracting with Army/Navy/Air Force?
Also, I have heard that Air Force will be deleting nursing jobs over the next several years- what is this about?
Thank you.
