Midwife jobs nationwide

My husband and I started talking about moving after I graduate from my CNM program. I want to start researching places to move now but one of my biggest concerns is where can I find a good paying CNM job, I will also be getting my WHNP as well. I was wondering if anyone had a website that listed salaries or where I could search areas that use midwifes. Thanks for your input.

Have you tried the ACNM web site? I think it is www.midwifejobs.org. If not, go through the ACNM site.

You will also find some variability based on the type of job you desire. Are you into out of hospital birth? Birth center? Serving underserved communities? Do you prefer a nice, regular hospital gig? Is it just where you will make the most money? I think different parts of the country are more inclined toward different types of positions.

Best wishes!

http://www.midwife.org is the ACNM website - the tab on the right of the page will take you to jobs.

There are links on that page to search the database for other ANP jobs.

Most do not list salary in the job description.

Pay, much like any aspect of nursing, is largely dependent upon location and where you are going to practice and how you are going to practice (home, hospital, free standing birth center, etc....). Experience will also factor into the mix as well. There are also sites and areas of the country where the pay might not be the greatest but they offer some great tuition reimbursement programs.

There is a TON of info on the internet and thru the ACNM website to help you find the information you need.

Good luck to you!!!!

Thank you for the sites. I never thought to check there. Money isn't a top priority. Right now we live in California so I think with the decrease in cost of living we could survive on less.
