I am not a Midwestern grad, but have a very good friend who is a member of their first graduating class. Based on what I have heard, I would not worry about their interview, and would concentrate on looking elsewhere for school.

I know the program is fairly new. When did your friend graduate and what is so bad about the program that you say to look elsewhere? Any info i great!

Is that so deepz? Last time I checked, Midwestern had exactly zero clinicals in Colorado where your user name says you are from. As for the original poster, Arizona is a highly dominated anesthesiologist state. That is why this program ships you all over to obtain the necessary clinical experience (rural AZ, New Mexico, North Carolina). That is just one of the reasons I feel you should look elsewhere.

Yes, I do in fact live in CO, a state which happens to abut three of the other FOUR Corners States, in all of which States I have been known to work. So don't be so presumptuous, please.

And several of Midwestern U's clinical placements ARE within the State of AZ, so if you now have any FIRST HAND criticisms of their program, let's hear them.

The school's website states, "Students will rotate to a variety of clinical sites in Arizona and New Mexico..." (see the curriculum tab). A couple of days ago, I spoke with someone in the clinical education department at Midwestern, and he said the school currently has clinical sites in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. The rotations are 6-12 weeks long. The students are responsible for taking care of travel and housing arrangements and expenses, but some sites do have prearranged housing. Hope this helps.

I am a pasted graduate of Midwestern, and yes the clinicals are all over the southwest. You are infact responsable for your housing and travel which adds a significant expense to the program. It is a very tough and demanding program with extensive travel. It is fully front loaded and the campus is a health science only campus. There are only CRNA's, DO's, OT's, PharmD's, PA's, and perfusionist that attend the school. This provides for a great way to build interdisciplinary relationships early.
