Middle Georgia State University 2020

Published

Anyone applied to Middle Georgia for the Spring 2020 cohort. I have sooooooo many unanswered questions the application really felt like a blur to me but here are my stats so far.

GPA 2.97 (In my final round on pre-reqs so hopefully it will increase)

Teas:78.7

Hello I am applying for Fall 2020, however, I have read other post and you should have a fair shot at getting in the program. Their average acceptance score is like a 3.15 and their TEAS is like a 70 (for ASN). BSN GPA is more like a 3.4-3.5 with a TEAS of 75. The way they do admissions is by first collecting your data (Carla Higgs does this) and then the professors review it if you meet the minimum requirements. Usually an admissions decision comes within 3 months of the application deadline (most of the time it is earlier). You may have already received your decisions, but I am not sure when you applied. Hope this helps.

Hi and thank you for replying. Your words were so encouraging. I haven't heard anything as of yet but Ms. Higgs did say it would be sometime this month. I'm hoping it will be today I can't wait anymore.

Your very welcome! I believe that you will get in. I am very excited to apply for the Fall term. You should really read other posts for MGA to get more familiar with what to expect. They can be very helpful.

Hey @Tonisha90 I got my acceptance letter today, did you?

I didn’t get in but I’m going to retry for fall 2020. Congrats to you

I am sorry you did not get in! If you want to increase your chances of getting in I would do one or both of two things. Increase your GPA by retaking or taking extra classes and/or study and retake the TEAS. I am really sorry you did not get in, but keep on hoping because I really think that you should be abele to get in. There have been people with your grades and scores that have gotten in. Are you doing BSN or ASN? The ASN GPA is 3.0 average with TEAS 70. BUT the BSN grades lean towards 3.5 and 75 TEAS.

Im sorry you didn’t get in, but keep trying I was denied from GSU perimeter two times before I was able to get in at MGA.

It is ok guys I’m going to redo a&p 1 and reapply for fall. !!!!!!!!

I think that is a great idea and will help you a lot. Many students who retake their A&P classes do much better their second times because they know what to expect and actually remember much of the material. If you want to improve your chances even more you should retake the TEAS and study for it. I studied only a little bit and got an 83, so I know you can too! Do not feel discouraged, the admissions commitee will see that you want to get in by looking and seeing that you have retaken the class. It is a good thing and will only benefit you. It really shows your commitment. I wish you thebest of luck, and I will start a Fall MGA 2020 discussion forum This January when the application opens so tune in and let us know your progress then!
