Midcurricular Hesi...Advice?

Ok so back in May I took the Midcurricular HESI twice and failed both times...scores of 846 & 751 respectively...We need an 850 to pass. I am an A/B student with 100's in clinicals but if I fail to make an 850 this time I have to begin my program over from the beginning despite the fact that I have completed 6/9 classes and passed all of them. I have been studying my brains out all summer with the HESI RN NCLEX book & CD...doing the remediation on the HESI site, attending remediation at my school with other students in the same situation, and doing Saunders questions over and over...anyone have any other advice? We take a HESI after every class as our final and I have never had trouble in the past...basically I am just freaking out and it's really hard to think of all my work going down the drain over this test...anyway not trying to be whiny just making sure I have all my bases covered so I go into it knowing I did everything I could. I take the test next Thursday, August 2. Thanks!!!

If you have the Saunders book with the CD I would highly recommend it. Practice questions!! Look at the areas that you got wrong and review them. If your HESI provides you with HESI Remediation then review it! That's info that you got wrong on your previous HESIs and it is vital to passing your next HESI. If the HESI Remediation links are confusing, I would just take the topic and look it up in Saunders since I find Saunders to be easier to understand. For instance, if a topic on the remediation link is CHF, just look up CHF in the index and study it. Do plenty of practice questions as well and you'll do great!

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I have been doing the heck out of some Saunders questions. The HESI remediation is a little confusing...just because a lot of times it will say something general like "Hypoglycemia" or "Adverse reaction." I will try looking it up in my Saunders & Med/Surg books. I have just been making flashcards and doing everything I can. Hopefully it will all work out!

I'll suggest you make use of HESI comprehensive 3rd edition. I guarantee you 100% passing

Yeah the remediation is confusing but make sure you know each of those subjects even though it just says something general. HESI tests on the same subjects each time because they believe certain subjects are important. Obviously, the questions aren't going to be the same on the next tests but subjects they test on will be. Good luck! Stay dedicated and you'll do just fine. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know how it goes.

I used Hesi Exam Practice - Prepare For Your Hesi RN Exit Test. It was $100 which is expensive, but it helped me pass the mid HESI. It has 10-20 mini practice test and 3 160 question test. It also has specialty test that are 55 questions each, all with rationales. They are hard! But it made the HESI seem much easier and I passed!
