My husband is going to be working in Michigan for a year or so and I am thinking about trying to get a travel assignment in the Detroit/Sterling Heights area.
Anyone ever done any assignments in the Michigan area? How was it?
Any place to avoid?
I'm an oncology nurse with 2+years experience.
Thanks

Worked at Beaumont hospital in Royal Oak, huge place. Michigan nursing license was a bit difficult. I had traveled to 10 different states before Michigan and was required to have verification of licensure from all 10. California was the slowest and they were all too expensive.

Hello
By all means stay away from Providence Hospital(southfield, mi) Oakwood Hospital ( dearborn, Mi)
I did agency contract at a hopital in garden city, michigan called garden city hospital and i worked days on the cardiac floor and the pace was nice and you were not overloaded. ( although this was back in 2005) But I have friends who work at the other stated hospitals and it is pretty bad. but sometimes $$$ talks and you can do anything for 12hrs ugh:wink2:.... well maybe... But try things out for yourseld. Royal oak is a nice area as well as troy michigan. Wm beumont hospital in royal oak i hear is pretty nice. One last thing my husband did agency work at st mary's in pontiac and liked it alot. good luck and keep me posted. I am from Michigan so if you have any ?'s please feel free to pm at any time! and again GOOD LUCK!
